Bitter Betrayal

by Célestin Maag

So this is how it ends. With hundred eyes watching.
Traitors, cowards and innocents. All meant to be one,
Indeed you are. There is no salvation today.
Everyone is guilty. Traitors, cowards and innocents,
those who stabbed, those who knew and those who watched,
all of you are guilty. There is no salvation today.
I pity your poor souls for what comes after. Don’t be blind,
I am the only one to close my eyes today.
Peace is not the price for this evil. Indeed,
only more blood, war and death will come.
Don’t be blind. Today, this is not just about me.
I am bleeding and Roma’s bleeding with me.
This end is not natural. Made by traitors,
cowards and innocents. Tu quoque mi fili.
