Don’t Overdo It

by Alejandra Mendoza Rais

You, the one that lies alone in bed
You, the one that feels everything
You, who thinks
Stop

Stay serene so madness ignores you
Do not let them in
No, do not let them in
If you allow it then you can smell death

You smell autumn coming
They all want me to smile
the bliss is forgotten
This tastes like sorrow, and

Once again you are alone
you think
another piece vanishes
don’t think
