A Path

by Adrian Hodzic

It is common thing, in our early twenties
To have a good think on which path our life shall aim. His was about to be. It was great! He
started to be independent, finding a job to raise money seemed evident.

Raising money, but for what purpose, he asked.
To spend it all, to spare it all, or to lose it all?
In our early twenties, it seems like the beginning of a new arc.
He wondered: one of adventure? of fully felt love? or of nothing but trouble?

In our early twenties, a new world opens-up!
That stands for the old generation.
As for his new generation,
Only good memories of that good’ol world stand up.

A new beginning, a world that does not seem promising at all
Farms from hell, overpopulation, and world hunger will ruin it all
Your generation will save the world, they said. – Not at all
A path is it? to be found? or to be lost in? he thought. The path he chose was to end it all.
